Things to consider when storing wine

Stable temperature, high humidity, UV-free dark storage, vibration-free and airflow are all important factors when storing wine. A wine fridge can mimic the conditions of a compact underground wine cellar or even offer even better storage.

Stable temperature - Rapid changes in temperature risk spoiling a wine. A wine cooler maintains a stable temperature thanks to slow temperature reduction with short compressor cycles. Wine coolers also have insulated side panels and a sealed triple-glazed door to stabilise the wine storage temperature.

High humidity levels - A humidity level above 50% is necessary to prevent the cork in the bottle from drying and to prevent oxidisation. Our wine coolers are designed to self-regulate humidity by recycling moisture from the environment, ensuring that adequate humidity levels are maintained (50% or higher).

UV-protected dark storage - Light exposure can affect the taste and colour of wine. To protect your wine collection from sunlight and UV rays, our wine coolers feature tinted glass doors, dark interiors and UV-free LED lights with dimmer function.

Vibrations - Vibrations and movements can affect the balance of the wine and accelerate ageing. To protect the quality of the wine, our wine coolers offer a vibration-free environment thanks to an external variable speed compressor. The wine coolers are equipped with rubber dampers and vibration-absorbing wooden shelves.

Quality airflow - Airflow is important to prevent mould from growing or bad odours from occurring, and to avoid the risk of your corked wine bottles deteriorating. Our wine coolers have a fresh and odourless interior, thanks to an efficient circulation system with built-in fans. A powerful air filter ensures a constant slow flow of filtered air through the cabinet.

Can the same fridge be used for storage and serving?

Yes, the same wine fridge can be used. All wines are kept and stored at the same temperature between 12-14ºC. This includes red wine, white wine, champagne and dessert wine. The ideal serving temperature differs between different types of wine. For example: Sauvignon Blanc & Champagne 6-8ºC. Chardonnay 10-12ºC. Pinot Noir & Merlot 14-15ºC. Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz 17-18ºC.
