Top Steam Oven Recipes

Steam ovens offer an innovative and healthy way to cook a range of foods. Plus, AEG steam ovens are an energy-efficient choice, boasting an A++ rating. But what is a steam oven, and how do they work? Steam ovens combine traditional heating methods with steam technology to retain nutrients and reduce the amount of oil required for any dish without compromising flavour.

Whether you’re considering investing in a steam oven or wondering how to get the most out of your current appliance, we’ve compiled some easy and delicious steam recipes to inspire you.

What can you cook in a steam oven?

As well as having all the normal programmes you would expect in a standard oven, there are so many benefits of cooking with steam. You can cook anything in a steam oven that you’d cook in a regular oven, just in a more effective and gentle way allowing better texture, nutrient and vitamin retention. These clever appliances are much quicker at cooking and require lower temperatures. They’re especially good for cooking meat, fish and vegetables, as the steam prevents them from drying out. However, they can also make baked goods rise and crisp better.

To keep our steam ovens as simple to use as possible they come with a programme called ‘Steamify’ which will automatically add the correct amount of steam for the type of food and cooking you want to do. This is in addition to the dedicated steam programmes in the oven. And a large range of assisted cooking programmes, which will guide you through how to cook a large number of steam recipes. (either on screen or via our AEG app).
