Tumble dryer displays a padlock

Resolution

A padlock being displayed is to highlight that the “Child lock” function has been activated.

When the child lock is engaged it will stop you from performing any action apart from turning the appliance on or off via the button/control dial.

The cycle cannot be accidentally started or changed while the machine is running.

The method to disable the lock varies between models. Please refer to the user manual for more details about the appliance.

Child lock button(s) will usually be highlighted on the control panel (examples below). If not, consult the appliance's user manual.

  


Examples of how to activate/deactivate Child Lock


AEG Series 6000



To deactivate press and hold delicate and anti-crease for 5 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold delicate and anti-crease for 5 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display


AEG Series 7000/8000

Display type 1

To deactivate press and hold refresh and anti-crease for 5 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold refresh and anti-crease for 5 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display

Display type 2

To deactivate press and hold Delay Start and Time Drying for 5 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold Delay Start and Time Drying for 5 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display


Display type 3

To deactivate press and hold Dry Mode and Anti-crease for 5 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold Dry Mode and Anti-crease for 5 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display


AEG 9000 Series

To deactivate press and hold  +Anti-crease for 3 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold + Anti-crease for 3 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display


AEG older models

To deactivate press and hold Dry Plus and Reverse Plus for 5 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold Dry Plus and Reverse Plus for 5 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display

To deactivate press and hold Time Drying and Delay Start for 5 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold Time Drying and Delay Start for 5 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display


Zanussi Dryers


To deactivate press and hold Time Dry and Long Anticrease  for 5 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold Time Dry  and Long Anticrease   for 5 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display


To deactivate press and hold Long Anticrease for 3 seconds until the padlock no longer displays on the LED display

To activate press and hold Long Anticrease for 3 seconds until the padlock appears on the LED display


Zanussi Dryers (LINDO models)

Activating the child lock option: 

1. Press the on/off button to activate the appliance. 

2. Wait approximately 8 seconds. 

3. Press and hold touchpads   and  at the same time. The child lock indicator comes on.

It is possible to deactivate the child lock option while a programme operates. 

Press and hold the same touchpads until the child lock indicator goes off.


If you have trouble removing the child lock, then please disconnect it from the power supply for about 5-10 mins before trying again.

  • For appliances with a programme button, you can usually remove the child lock as soon as the appliance has been powered on.
  • For appliances with the programme dial, you may need to unlock this on the last used programme or cycle through each programme attempting to remove the child lock.
