Life Cycle Assessment
Life cycle assessment (LCA) helps measure a product's environmental impact from start to finish, covering everything from raw materials to disposal.
LCA and AEG
At AEG, we use LCAs on a category level to understand how our appliances affect the environment. Our research shows that the biggest climate impact of household appliances comes from their energy consumption during use. AEG, a member of the Electrolux Group, runs product category LCA according to ISO 14040-14043
AEG EcoLine: the selection criteria
Kitchen and laundry appliances are selected based on having our highest EU energy ratings available when a label is present. Appliances without energy labels, such as hobs, are chosen for their energy efficiency features. Home care products, such as vacuum cleaners, are selected for their Auto Mode features and use of recycled materials.
